About Us

Castle Centerstone LLC was formed in 1996 with the aim of creating upscale shopping, professional office, and nighttime entertainment in downtown Castle Rock by renovating old buildings and developing new buildings with historical character and sensitive design.

Developed first was the Castle Café and Keystone Hotel building. (The Next Door Bar, which is adjacent to the Castle Café, opened in March 2003.) Centerstone, a two-story office and retail complex at 4th and Perry St., came next in 1998. This was followed by the Shops on Third, in 1999. A three-story Class A office and retail building, known as 399 Perry, came next in 2001.

Starting construction in January 2004 is Centerstone Plaza, a retail and office project on South Perry Street, near Plum Creek Parkway. Designed as a southern European piazza with two building connected by a tower, it will feature retail on the ground level and office on the second floor.

July 2004 will see the construction start on the Shops, Lofts, Office Space and Garage at Wilcox Square. When completed in December 2005, it will feature seven or eight retail spaces, up to twenty office tenants, thirty loft condominiums, and an underground garage with about 180 spaces.

Preserving old buildings for future use, Castle Centerstone also owns the City Hotel, the town's first and frontier hotel, which it plans to renovate into office space for smaller professional firms at the appropriate time.

Brad Brown, Owner and Operator:

Brad Brown is the founder and operator of Castle Centerstone, Real Estate and Development, LLC. Brad is a long time resident of the area, living on a horse ranch in Selida. More important, he has long participated with the Town in planning for intelligent growth of Castle Rock, especially the downtown area.

He helped facilitate swapping the land for the new Fire Station, for example, along with acting as the middle-owner in securing the old Safeway for the new County Library, bought the old Police Station so they could move to a more modern facility, and organized a new publishing plant and offices for the News Press on the west side of I 25, so the quasi-industrial use of their downtown location could be put to better use.

Before launching Castle Centerstone, Brad had more than 20 years experience in commercial real estate with one of the largest companies in the region, and who specialized in the renovation and leasing of historically significant properties. Many of the renovations in Denver's LoDo, for instance, were pioneered by Brad.

Cathy Latta, Comptroller:

As a CPA with eight years of experience in accounting on commercial real estate with one of Colorado Springs largest real estate companies, Cathy brings proven operating methods and a reporting discipline to Castle Centerstone.

In addition to purely accounting functions, Cathy also has experience in tenant relations, including the negotiation of lease terms and agreements, and helping retail tenants understand the factors involved in common area chargebacks and similar issues.

Her experience will be especially valuable in managing the construction draws and related functions on upcoming development projects.

Erin Sweeney, Property Manager

Erin is the "go to" person in handling the details, administration, rent collection, repair orders, and myriad of other functions that keep the properties in top condition.

She might greet you at the Front Desk, also serving as Brad's Administrative Assistant.

Simply put, she's the person that "keeps it all together" on a daily basis.
