Courtyard
at Castle Rock, Phase II
Overview The entire "Courtyard Development" will eventually encompass three buildings, each containing approximately 35,000 square feet of office and retail space. Phase I will commence in May/June 2004 and be ready for leasing April 2005. Phase II will commence after Phase I is sufficiently leased, hopefully by November 2005. It's named "Courtyard" on account of an actual 17,000 square foot courtyard that'll serve as the town square for all the tenants and other visitors to the area. In addition to food and refreshment opportunities, as well as entertainment and leisure venues, it'll offer a place to just sit and enjoy a sunny day. Office space is concentrated in suites designed for small professional firms, who need highly functional space, at affordable prices, so executives can use their time where it'll do the most good. High speed internet lines and other technology backbone minimize the need for staff, while large conference rooms on each floor avoid the need for in-suite facilities. Retail space is centered around the courtyard, naturally. Approximatley 3 spaces ranging from 1,500 NRSF to 3,500 NRSF in Phase I will cater to visitors "making an afternoon of it." For example, mom's can watch their children playing in the courtyard after visiting the new Douglas County Library, for instance, and as they visit with friends over a light lunch. Likewise for those getting their hair done at the salon, a massage at the spa, wine and cheese with their friends, looking over new fashions, or picking up some coffee, pastery, chocolates, and a few good books to take home. Simply put, shoppers won't be going to the Courtyard for errands, but for pure enjoyment. Making the Courtyard a sure destination spot for people living in the heart of Douglas County. The exterior of the building is designed as a contemporary interpretation of traditional Castle Rock buildings. Features such as large glass show windows in decorative frames with deeply recessed entries are patterns that invite pedestrian browsing and strolling between shopping opportunities. Materials including native Rhyolite stone, red and tan brick, painted wood siding and trim and upper story metal cladding are traditional materials with rich colors and textures that complement the small scale detailing of the building.
